My Average Day
I've joined this photo project, where I take pictures every hour on certain days. You can find the pictures I took in my gallery here

This layout was made with the help of a photograph I downloaded at iStockPhoto.
Carola keeps complaining that I don’t write anything on my blog. Well, here’s to proving her wrong.
Ok, ok, she is not wrong, but yeah, my inspiration to write isn’t very high.
So what’s new? Carola had a big fight with her flatmate and now she’s gonna move in with me in 2 weeks. She keeps warning me, but I’m looking forward to us living together. It’s nothing final though, since we don’t know what happens once she’s finished with her apprenticeship. Her final written exams are in May and her oral exams most likely by the end of June.
Inbetween we will travel to Paris. Again.
First we will spend two days in Paris and then three more days in Disneyland. So looking forward to it. I’ve only seen Paris once, when I was a kid, so I don’t remember much.
After Paris we will go to Düsseldorf where my stepbrother is going to get married in what seems to be a very big, stylish wedding (invitation says “Women are welcome to wear hats”!!)
In October we will celebrate my 30th birthday in a small hotel in the Bavarian Forest. Relaxing, hiking, relaxing, doing stuff like that.
And how can we afford all this? Carola won the Disneytrip, we get discount on the hotel in Paris, got really cheap flights and also get discount on the hotel in the Bavarian Forest. Isn’t it nice to work in the travel business?
My new place is really cosy, though not everything is finished yet. No kitchen sink yet, my stove isn’t connected yet, and my washing machine isn’t either. Two rooms still need to be fixed up. And actually I’m slacking off doing the bedroom right now. But sssssshhhh, don’t tell my girl!
Oh well, I think I have written enough for now and might just get started with work.
In case you’re wondering why I’m home in the middle of the day…. our boss sent several people home early, since we don’t have enough work for everyone right now.
I finally finished my wallpaper collection. I had started it ages ago, but never got to finish it properly.
But now it is up and running. Please check it out at Concealed Attraction
Looking forward to getting your comments.

February 25, 2008 ::: Long time…
… no write.
And now I’m back with a new layout which I just created.
I wanted a new layout and no more skinning, so this will be the only layout you will be able to see. Sorry about that, but I grew tired of having so many layouts.
I wasn’t sure what I wanted the new layout to look like, so I just entered random words at istockphoto and ended up picking this beautiful picture.
Carola and I went to see Wicked last night, and it was amazing! I really enjoyed the musical a lot, and it might just become a new favorite. Ok, nothing can top Elisabeth, but Wicked is coming close second.
The performances were great, the music was awesome. It gave “The Wizard of Oz” a very interesting new twist. I will have to watch that again soon.

October 29, 2007 ::: Back online
I haven’t had internet access for almost a month, and while it wasn’t too bad for the first two weeks, since I had to work all day anyway, it was a bit annoying the rest of the time while not working. Yes, unbelievable but true, I had a little over two weeks of vacation! Today is my last day and I’m getting ready to make some cakes for my colleagues, since it was my birthday last week. Will make two cakes and some muffins. Hopefully they’ll like it.
Got my best birthday present from Carola, tickets to see Wicked in Stuttgart on November 24th!! I’m soo looking forward to finally seeing it. Especially since I didn’t get a chance when I was in New York. Awesome idea! <3 <3
That’s where I was this weekend. And it was awesome!
I drove to Berlin with my friend/colleague Carola. We made a stop at her parent’s place on the way there.
In Berlin we stayed with a gay couple, I booked that through a website for private accommodation for gays and lesbians in big cities. They were really nice and the room too. We lived right in the gay area and only a few steps from the parade.
The weather wasn’t very friendly on the day of the parade. It changed from sunshine to rain and storm back to sunshine. With a little bit of rain and storm in between.
But the parade was awesome nevertheless. We stayed in one spot until almost all wagons had passed and then we started walking along with the parade. My tail bone started hurting like hell when we reached the holocaust memorial, which is why we decided to take a rest and sit there for a while, watching the parade pass by yet again (yes, while walking along we overtook quite a few wagons).
I still remember when I saw the Brandenburg gate from a bus for the first time, when I was shocked that it was so much smaller than I always thought. Now that I was standing right in front of it, the feeling went away, it actually isn’t all that small. On our way to the victory column we did pass people who obviously had too much to drink already. Saw a girl lying on top of someone else in a way it couldn’t have been comfortable. Ouch.
We stayed for a bit during the final rally, listening to what Berlin’s gay mayor had to say and to a bit of the music.
But we were really exhausted so we didn’t stay that long, deciding to come back for the fireworks. In the end we slept through that though, oops.
Had dinner at a little sixties diner, very tasty, I miss having something like that around here. A GOOD burger instead of the usual fast food stuff…
On Sunday morning we drove back home, yet again stopping by at Carola’s parents’ place for a little bbq, which was very nice. I really enjoyed staying with them.
So, that’s the most important facts of the weekend. We did see Shrek the Third on Friday night, and contrary to what I expected after hearing some rather harsh critics, I really liked it. Though it was weird to hear the new German voice for donkey. I was too used to the old one. RIP Randolf Kronberg, you lent your voice to Eddie Murphy for a long time.
I’ve been trying to get this new layout (Click on “Summertime” under Skins) look right for quite a while. I wanted to make a summery layout and this image I found on iStockPhoto looked perfect. Usually yellow is not one of my favorite colors, but it looks wonderful here.
Biggest problem was the menu. I know that is the one fault with the New York skin. The menu doesn’t work right in IE. But I will try to fix that by using the same tutorial I used for this new one. So hopefully that’ll work.
My mom didn’t last long and got a dog from the pound just a few days ago. Her name is Eva and she’s a tricolored Collie. Very adorable, but a little slow and a little fat. She will need to lose about 15 pounds or so. Her previous owner was an old lady who obviously spoiled her with food and wasn’t able to go on long walks with her. But she is a total sweetheart. She also gets along with Max and Lilli, which is very important since they’re going to stay with her for good.
They’re just not happy at my place, ’cause they don’t have the possibility to go outside, and here at my mom’s place there’s no problem. They will have to stay inside for 2-3 weeks, until they get used to their new home and then my mom will let them go outside. Yay for happy kitties.
Work is good, doing more over-hours that I would like to, but oh well, what can you do? There’s a lot to do, which is great, ’cause the day passes faster. The new department is actually a lot better than I thought, people are really nice and teamwork is great. I’m only responsible for making flight offers, so I don’t have answer any phonecalls, that’s awesome!
Other than that there’s still not very much going on in my life. Well, ok partly there is, I admit it, but it’s nothing to tell here on the blog.
I’m sure I will miss my little kitties, but it’s good to know that they will be happy and that I will be able to see them from time to time, whenever I come back home.
